OFFICIAL OPENING OF NEW SPORTS HALL

The new Sports Hall was officially opened on Monday, 19 February, by Maria Verdeille, former HGS student and Team England Para Athletic Squad member, Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast, 2018.

Maria commented, ‘[I would like to give] a very big thank you to Hitchin Girls’ School for having me back to open their new Sports Hall. It was great to see so many familiar faces and to meet new ones. Hitchin Girls’ School has been a huge part of my journey and it’s because of the brilliant support I had while I was there that I am where I am today.

Something that I want the HGS girls to know, that I have learnt along the way, is that you must always try your hardest, never give up and take every opportunity you are given as you never know what is around the corner.’
