Performing Arts Week

Project Polyglot 2026

Year 9 History Poppy Dedications

Dedications to individuals who died in World War I by our Year 9 History students. They each made a poppy and chose whom to dedicate it to, be it someone in their family who lost their life in the conflict, or a person they found out about through researching the Commonwealth War Graves.

District Cross-Country Champions!

Garden House has touched the lives of many members of our school community, and following lots of student nominations, we agreed it was the perfect choice for our school to support - especially given the crisis that the charity currently finds itself in.

Stress-management Workshop for Year 11s

Bronze D of E Expedition

On one of the hottest weekends of the year so far, 52 Year 10s completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award qualifying expedition. It was exceptionally challenging given the heat - staff had to work hard to prevent the students from getting heatstroke, but no-one gave up. It was also one of the most enjoyable expeditions as students really rose to the challenge. All five of the HGS values were demonstrated in abundance - especially Perseverance!

Maths National Finalists!

The TMC National Final, held at the prestigious RHS Halls in Westminster, was a vibrant celebration of mathematical talent and creativity. Following an impressive series of regional competitions involving 677 teams, just 72 teams earned their place in the national final.

A Level Chemistry Competition

Year 12 Chemistry students have taken part in a schools' Analytical Chemistry competition, in which they evaluated soil samples from a disused industrial estate to consider whether it's suitable for building houses on, and if not, what could be done to make the land safer.

Science Fair 2025

Our annual Science Fair took place just before we broke up for Easter, where Years 7 & 8 are invited to carry out a scientific investigation or present a scientific idea in teams of up to four. We had some interesting projects based around this year's theme of 'Change and Adapt', from a record 153 entrants across more than 40 teams. Very well done all for taking part in the competition and having a go.
