Founders' Day, 1 July 2022

It was an extra special Founders' Day for the Girls' School and the Boys' School, back in person at St Mary's after two years.

It was also our Headteacher Mrs Manning's 15th and last Founders' Day. Just fantastic to be able to resume our 90-year-old tradition to mark the end of our leavers' time at HGS. Assembly at school was followed by a procession down Hollow Lane for a beautiful church service, with readings and speeches that were both moving and inspiring.

We wish our leavers every success and happiness in their next ventures - do stay in touch and let us know how you get on!

And Founders' Day was also Enterprise Day and Sports Day! Lots of fun and inventive stalls were lined up by the track events.

A special mention also to the Year 10 students who worked hard to set up the Founders' Day lunch in time for everyone coming back from the church.

It was a very busy day with a torrential downpour thrown in, but without doubt a real highlight of the whole year!
