JOINING Hitchin girls' school sixth form

If you would like to come to HGS Sixth Form in September 2022 and you are not currently at HGS, please complete our external students' Options Form before the deadline of Friday 17 December.

If you are a current HGS student and would like to stay on for Sixth Form, please fill in our internal students' Post-16 Options Form before the deadline of Friday 17 December. To complete this form the student has to be logged into their own school Google account.

There is lots of information about our Sixth Form and the subjects available on the Hitchin Consortium website.

The website includes an introduction, information about how we work as a consortium of Hitchin schools, a presentation by the head of Sixth Form and details about the wide variety of enrichment activities available.

Please note that, because the Sixth Form is part of the Consortium, some subjects are not delivered at HGS - again information about these subjects can be found on the Consortium website.

The Sixth Form offers a wide range of subjects as part of the highly effective consortium with The Priory School and Hitchin Boys' School. Sixth Formers are expected to participate in the life of the school through leadership opportunities, mentoring programmes and charity community participation. They serve as ambassadors for the school, making a valued contribution to the school community. Some act as mentors to students in Years 7-11 whilst others work with students at local junior schools in areas such as Science, PE, Art and ICT.

The school prefect body is led by our Head Girl, who is a Year 13 student elected by her peers and staff. She is supported by two Deputy Head Girls and other Year 13 students who hold roles including House Captain, House Public Relations, House Charity and House Sports Prefects.

Over 89% of our Sixth Form students go on to university at the end of Year 13.

Our Director of Sixth Form is Ms Stojko. Please contact her if you have any queries regarding Sixth Form.
