Some new virtual work experience opportunities are about to launch via Springpod. They are  free - you just need to register and then you have two weeks to complete the experiences, which will take a maximum of 10 hours.

The Diana Award Online Careers Fair 

Monday 15 - Friday 19 July 

Ages 11-18 

The week will consist of 15 sessions, covering topics such as apprenticeships and routes into work, AI and digital advancements in the workplace. There will be lots of behin-the-scenes information on some of the UK’s biggest companies. The sessions are intended to help improve young people's transferable careers skills and knowledge of routes to education, employment and training, and develop their confidence.  

Virtual Classroom Event

PWC's Virtual Classroom summer series continues. Students in Years 10-13 can attend to find out more about their programmes, develop employability skills and hear from the Student Recruitment team. 

• Looking ahead to your career options: Apprenticeships - Wednesday 17 July, 4.30-5.30pm. 

The Gonville and Caius Medsoc is running Medicine access days at Gonville and Caius College Cambridge on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 August, for students in Year 12 who are interested in applying for Medicine.  This opportunity is open to students attending state schools in the college's link areas. Students should sign up for one of these dates. The programme on both days is the same and runs from 10:30-19:00 – see below. Students should make their own way to and from Cambridge. There is no cost to students for this event.

Higher Education Finance Session for young people and families

Tuesday 30 July 6-7pm

This session is for young people in Year 12 and their families. You will gain an understanding of the sources of finance for, and the costs of, higher education. Parents / carers and young people are encouraged to attend this session together. It will include:

• Fees for higher education
• Loans for fees and to support living costs
• The terms of the loans and what students will pay back
• Additional sources of funding
• Budgeting and student accommodation
• Q and A

The content of this presentation is not specific to Cambridge and is suitable for young people considering applying to any university.
