SCHOOL NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
|
|
Good afternoon,
I want to start today by celebrating the tremendous success of this year's Carol Service. For the first time we held the event at St Mary's Church, with a service in the afternoon for Years 11, 12 and 13 as well as the main service in the evening for families of the performers. Thanks to Reverend Little for hosting us at the church, and of course to all of the students who took part. Thanks also to all the staff who contributed to the services - a special mention must go to Miss Scott, who led the event and who leaves the school at the end of the term. Over the years Miss Scott has co-ordinated a huge number of shows, concerts and special services; her contribution to music at the school and the experience of our students has been immense. We all wish her well for the future.
On Thursday we had our Christmas dinner, and as this was coupled with Christmas Jumper Day, it certainly made for a festive atmosphere around school. Thanks to all the catering team for their hard work in providing an excellent Christmas meal to so many students.
Just two-and-a-half days to go until we break up for Christmas - this term has certainly flown by.
Have a good weekend,
James Crowther, Headteacher

Please save those tins and tubs!
Food Technology are in need of empty chocolate tubs / tins like these, for students to take home their food in, when they have forgotten their own containers. This is the ideal time of year for the department to build up their stock again - students are asked to bring in any unwanted tubs after Christmas!
