Good afternoon,
Happy New Year to you all - I hope everyone found time over the break to relax and enjoy celebrations with family and friends.
There will be a full newsletter published next week, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all well for the new year. It has been a pleasure to welcome students back; on Wednesday I introduced assemblies for each of Years 7-11 and, as ever, I was impressed by their attitudes and attentiveness.
There was much to celebrate with students at the end of last term and I look forward to more points of celebration over the coming months. I spoke with all students about how they should endeavour to reflect our core values of Aspiration, Perseverance, Kindness, Respect and Positivity, and this will feature in our rewards as we move forward.
For Years 11 and 13, this is the last full term of school before their final GCSE and A level examinations. Year 13s are currently embarking on their final mocks, and I wish them well with their revision and exams.
As you will be aware, as a school we practise our fire evacuation procedures on a termly basis. In addition to fire evacuation procedures, it is now commonplace for schools to have lockdown procedures for circumstances that may require students to be kept inside a building for their safety. These procedures will be explained to students next week during tutor time and will be practised with a drill later this half-term.
Finally, the redevelopment work of our main school reception area entered its final stage this week. A special thanks to Mr Collins and the Site Team for the additional work undertaken over the break to ensure this was ready for the start of term. I look forward to you seeing the changes when you next visit the school.
Have a lovely weekend.
