{item_alt_tag}

In this weekly round-up you will find information about a huge range of careers and further/higher education opportunities, including university open days, work experience, careers taster sessions, apprenticeship vacancies and lots more. The Careers section is followed by the Higher Education section.
We hope you find it useful!

Webinars and events taking place during school hours are aimed at Sixth Form students only.

By listing providers or employers HGS is not endorsing them, so we recommend that you do your own research to ensure it's the right thing for you.

Unifrog and JED - essential careers websites

Hitchin Girls' School uses Unifrog and JED - these are online careers platforms that help secondary schools deliver their statutory duty to provide students with impartial and independent guidance on the full range of post-school options.

JED - Job Explorer Database
This site is aimed more at Key stage 3 students and is used in Learning for Life lessons. It has a 'Suits Me' careers quiz and extensive information on jobs and careers. This can be accessed via https://sites.google.com/hgs.herts.sch.uk/careerszone/home

Unifrog
The site hosts a variety of quizzes that help with career exploration. It also enables the user to compare every undergraduate university course in the UK as well as international opportunities. Additionally, the Unifrog platform allows students to access details of Further Education courses (for technical qualifications) and has the most comprehensive list of apprenticeships available across the country, including Higher, School Leaver and Degree apprenticeships.

All students in Years 7 - 13 have access to this website. They have their own logins but parents can also register and create their own account via:

https://www.unifrog.org/code
Sign-up code - GIRWparents (This code will be live for the next 90 days.)
