CAREERS / WORK EXPERIENCE / APPRENTICESHIPS


Digdata is thrilled to announce free virtual work experience events with National Highways. These career challenges are designed to develop key employability skills such as problem-solving, data literacy, storytelling and presentation. Hosted on Microsoft Teams, the sessions take place outside of school hours, making them easily accessible.

Unilever - Unilever's diverse apprenticeship programmes offer hands-on experience and nationally recognised qualifications across various fields. With opportunities from Level 3 to degree apprenticeships, students will gain valuable skills and support while shaping their future. Apply now for September 2025.

Airbus - Airbus pioneer safe and sustainable aerospace from passenger jets to satellites. Their 2025 apprenticeship opportunities are now live and offer valuable practical training from Level 3-6 at sites across the UK. Roles on offer include electrical, mechanical and design engineering, craft and business apprenticeships. Learn more about Airbus and their apprenticeships
 

BBC - Apprenticeships are now open for 2025 applicants! From degree apprenticeships in digital user experience and data science to Level 5 journalism and Level 3 broadcast and media systems, the BBC has a role and location to suit all students. A second wave of opportunities will launch in December including business, marketing and production opportunities. Salary starting from £21,840.

British Airways - These apprenticeships are designed to give students the best possible career launch into British Airways' Customer, Business, and Operations teams. From Aspiring Leader and Business Professional programmes to Aircraft Engineer and Customer Service apprenticeships, there's opportunities at different qualification levels. Salaries range from £16,916 to £26,900.

New Scholarships for 2025/26

The University of Bedfordshire is offering generous new scholarships for 2025/26 to help students achieve their dream career. Our two main scholarships are:

·Excellence Scholarship worth £7,500 over three academic years

·High Achievement Scholarship worth £1,500 over three academic years

Higher Education Choices Open Evening

On Wednesday 4 December from 4pm until 6.30pm the university will be hosting a Higher Education Choices Open Evening at our Bedford & Luton campuses. The evening is slightly more informal than the usual open days, but will give students the chance to meet academic staff and explore the facilities.

We also have a programme of talks designed to support students and their parents/carers with their decision-making around university and higher education. Throughout the evening there will be talks about:

De Montfort University - Y11-13 students are invited to the Futures Fair, a dynamic interactive marketplace event to learn about courses, speak to current staff and students from across the DMU community, and begin their exploration of potential study and career paths. Students can register here (17 Dec)

Aston University - Heads of sixth form, teachers, head teachers, careers advisers, and all staff involved in post-16 education are invited to Aston University's 30th Annual Admissions and Higher Education Guidance Conference. Sheffield Hallam University - The Sheffield Business School Teacher and Adviser Network is an opportunity for business teachers to engage with peers, meet academics from across Sheffield Business School and participate in CPD opportunities.
