Applications are now open for our Access Law programme – a virtual programme for secondary school students interested in law. You will get the opportunity to learn more about a career in law through a series of virtual events and mentoring support.

Who is Ashurst?

Ashurst is a leading global law firm that specialises in commercial law. In the UK, Ashurst has offices in London and Glasgow.

Who are we looking for?

You will be eligible to apply for our Access Law programme if:

  • You are interested in studying law at university or gaining employment in a law-related field after school/university
  • You are studying in the UK and are in your penultimate or final year of secondary school
  • You are attending a state funded, non-fee-paying school/college or are attending a fee-paying school on a 100% means-tested bursary
  • You must also meet one or more of our additional criteria outlined on our Access Law webpage

Head Start to Uni is a chance for you to visit Newcastle University, see their campus, talk to current students, and gain information and advice to prepare you for your journey into higher education.

This event gives students the opportunity to:

  • Discover information about applying to the University.
  • Tailor the event to develop your knowledge where you need it.
  • Gain confidence in the application process. 
  • Enhance your critical thinking skills. 
  • Meet and chat with current students. 
  • Explore our campus.

The day…

The event will begin at 09:30am on Friday 24th October, and you can choose to attend two bespoke workshops to support your application and hear a panel of our current students talk about their university journey! You can also take an optional student-led campus tour at the close of the event.
