We hope you find it useful!

Webinars and events taking place during school hours are aimed at Sixth Form students only.

By listing providers or employers HGS is not endorsing them, so we recommend that you do your own research to ensure it's the right thing for you.

CAREERS / WORK EXPERIENCE / APPRENTICESHIPS

Book your free tickets to What University? and What Career? Live at Olympia, London on 13 & 14 November to learn more about the full range of school leaver options.
This event is aimed at students in Years 11 - 13 and their parents/carers.

Allied Healthcare Virtual Work Experience Programme

Sunday 4 October, 8.30am - 5.00pm

During the programme, students will follow realistic patient cases from initial presentation through to treatment and recovery, seeing how different healthcare professionals work together as part of an NHS multidisciplinary team.

Students will explore careers including:
Nursing
Midwifery
Paramedicine
Physiotherapy
Occupational Therapy
Dietetics
Radiography
Speech and Language Therapy
Prosthetics and Orthotics
Pharmacy

Rather than simply observing, students are encouraged to think about patient-centred care, communication, teamwork, clinical decision-making and the different responsibilities of healthcare professionals.

These are experiences that students can reflect upon later in their university applications and interviews, while also helping them make a much more informed decision about which healthcare career is right for them.

Students will also receive a Work Experience Certificate for each session they complete, allowing them to build a record of their participation throughout the programme.

Causeway Education are working with Wedlake Bell (independent London law firm) for the third year running to host a free insight programme to support students who are interested in this pathway.

Wedlake Bell hire two solicitor apprentices each year and this programme can provide specific support for their application but also support more generally for other solicitor apprentice applications. Solicitor degree apprenticeships are highly competitive, so engaging in this programme is an excellent way to get free guidance and support to help students succeed.

Students can apply for both or one part of the programme, depending on eligibility:

🗓️ In-person insight event, 71 Queen Victoria St, London EC4V 4AY: Thursday 12th November 2026, 10am-4.30pm = The insight day will include information about Wedlake Bell and the solicitor apprenticeship route, activities that allow students to demonstrate skills required for law (useful for applications), a day in the life apprenticeship task and opportunities for networking. Students must be within 1.5 hours public transport of the London office to be eligible.

💻 Online webinar: Thursday 3rd December, 4.15-6pm on Zoom = The application masterclass will provide step by step support for the solicitor degree apprenticeship application, which can be used generally for application but with specific Wedlake Bell examples and support, ahead of their deadline. This webinar is interactive with break-out rooms and Q+A opportunities. Students across the UK can apply for this opportunity.

Both opportunities involve the chance to meet and chat with the Early Careers team at Wedlake Bell, as well as their current solicitor apprentices who have gone through the application process successfully.

There are two deadlines for applications:

  1. Deadline for the in-person event: Monday 5th October, 5pm.
  2. Deadline for the online webinar: Monday 1st December, 5pm.
