A Level Psychology - Brain Day

Last week we welcomed back Dr Guy Sutton, who hosted two Brain Days with our Psychology A level students.

Year 12 engaged with a brain dissection, learning all about the different parts of the brain, the impact of various disorders on the developing brain, the effects of drug abuse and the future of Neuroscience.

For Year 13 it was a Criminal Brain Day, learning about the link between brain injury, mental health and crime - looking at really complex case studies of brain abnormality and criminal behaviour, and the impact of PTSD and abuse on the brain. This gave them the opportunity to engage with second-year medical degree level theory and research.

It was an absolute delight to host Dr Sutton again and we cannot wait for his return next year. The students got a true idea of what it would be like to study Psychology/Neuroscience at university.
